Quick Guide of System Genius

System Genius is a multi-functional utility designed to speed up and optimize your Windows computer. Here is the guide including 6 parts to help you to get known and use System Genius quickly.

Part 1: One click to clean up all of unneeded file

Are you confused about what kinds of files are useful or useless? It doesn't matter! System Genius can scan all of the unneeded files and you just need to clean up them with one click. Here are detailed steps.

Step 1: Download and install System Genius on your computer. Once installed, launch it.

Step 2: The software opens to Home page by default. Click on Scan button to scan and examine the computer quickly and thoroughly.

Step 3: Wait for a while until scanning is completed and the scan results will be shown on the screen, listing all kinds of useless files on your computer. Then click on Clean button at the top right of the interface to clean up all the selected files in one go. Of course you can uncheck the box of the files that you don't want to delete before clicking cleanup button.

Step 4: Once completed, click on OK button to exit.

Part 2: Clean up junk files only

If you just want to clean up the junk files separately, you can refer to the following steps.

Step 1: On the interface of System Genius, click on Junk File on the left panel and click on Scan button to scan all the junk files in your computer.

Wait for a while and a list of categories of junk files will be displayed. On the scan results interface, you can click the icon of one particular category to get more details of this item.

On the popup window, you can click on icon of folder at the end of row to check it in File Explorer. If you want to clean up the files of this category, you can click on Clean button at the top right of this window.

Step 2: By default, all the scan results are selected. If you don't want to delete some of them, you can uncheck the box next to the category. Then click on Clean button at the top right of the interface of junk file scan results to clear all the selected junk files.

Step 3: Once completed, click on OK button to exit.

Part 3: Clean up Windows registry files only

You can refer to the steps below to clean up the invalid registries on your computer.

Step 1: On the interface of System Genius, click on Registry on the left panel and click on Scan button to scan all the registries in your computer.

Step 2: Wait for a while until scanning is completed and all the registries will be shown on the screen. Click on Clean button at the top right of this window.

Step 3: Once completed, click on OK button to exit.

Notes: The operation of cleaning registries is similar to that of cleaning junk files and you can refer to Part 2 to get more detailed operations.

Part 4: Free up system disk space and transfer downloads

There are two sub-features in the System Disk option. One is System Disk Cleanup and the other is Downloads Transfer. Both of them can help you free up space on C Drive to improve the performance of computer.

Step 1: Open System Genius and click System Disk option on the left panel. Then you will come to the System Disk Cleanup interface by default. Here you can check the current state of system disk.

Step 2: Click on Release button to free up system disk. After it is done, click on OK button to end up.

Transfer downloads to another location

Generally, the download location is in system disk by default. To free up C Drive space, you can use this software to change the default download path from system disk to another drive and transfer the downloaded files to the new path.

Step 1: Click System Disk option on the left panel and then click Downloads Transfer tab.

Step 2: Click on Select button to open location window.

Step 3: Click on Select Folder to choose a new download location from another drive.

Step 4: Click on Move button to transfer the selected downloaded files from the original download path to the new download path. Meanwhile the default download location will be been changed.

Notes: All the downloaded files in the download folder will be displayed on the interface and all of them are selected by default. If you don't want to transfer some files, you can uncheck the box next to them and the location of these unselected files won't be changed.

Part 5: Enable or disable startup apps

Some applications will run automatically when the Windows system boot up and even you may not notice this. To speed up Windows boot up, you can use System Genius to disable the startup apps.

Step 1: Open System Genius and click on Startup option on the left panel. Then the interface will list all the programs that run automatically on system startup.

Step 2: Click on Disable button to disable the unneeded startup apps.

Notes: If you want to restore its starting mode, you can click the button again. And then the starting mode of this app will be enabled again. It is a pity that some programs with automatic protection function can still run automatically on system startup though we have set them disabled.

Part 6: Manage Windows system services

Besides, System Genius offers a feature that allows you to disable the Windows system services so that you can optimize your computer and make it faster.

Step 1: Open this tool and click on System Service option and you will find all the system services on the right panel.

Step 2: Find out the system service that you want to turn off and click on Disable button. Every operation will be recorded and you can check the history of operations by clicking Service Log on the top right of corner.

Step 3: On Service Log window, you can find out the system services that you have changed its status. You can click on Restore button to restore the original status of system service.

Notes: If you have no idea whether you should enable or disable the system service, you can refer to the suggestions under the Suggest column.
